The Cirque Du Soleil shows currently produced in Las Vegas are:
Mystère at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino
- This first Las Vegas presentation of Cirque Du Soleil debuted in 1993.
Venture into a world filled with brilliant colors and strange
creatures on a journey to the edge of human potential.
Mystère by Cirque du Soliel is a dynamic kaleidoscope of
sights and sounds performed in a state of the art theatre.
The international cast of 72 featured dancers, singers, musicians,
champion-caliber acrobats and a sole misguided clown. The production
credited with changing the face of Las Vegas entertainment has been
honored eight times as "Las Vegas' Best Production Show."
"O" at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino
- An Aquatic show. Beyond circus, beyond theater, Cirque du Soleil
has created an entirely original form of live entertainment.
"O" pays tribute to the magic of the theater - from the simplest street
performance to the most lavish of operas - where anything is possible
and where the drama of life plays itself out before our very eyes.
Cirque du Soleil's first venture into aquatic theater has been seen by
more than 2 million spectators and has earned the acclaim of journalists
from around the world. The Chicago Tribune says,
"...as spectacular and
inventive a live show as you're likely to find anywhere in the world
right now...". Recently honored as the best Las Vegas production show for
the second year in a row. With an international cast of 81 artists,
performing in, on and above a 1.5 million gallon pool of water, "O"
tells the tale of theater through the ages and frees us to embark on
a 90-minute voyage where dreams are not only encouraged, they come true.
Zumanity at the New York, New York Hotel Casino
- Discover another side of Cirque du Soleil! A show for lovers,
would-be lovers and anyone whose imagination has ever been sparked
by the idea of love. This international cast of 50 eclectic and flirtatious
performers and musicians, reaches out and takes the soul of the audience on
a 90 minute encounter, awakening most primal urges to a new form of eroticism
blending movement, style, acrobatics, uninhibited costumes and beatutiful
bodies with the sensual caress of the human voice and the insistent pulse
of exotic rhythms. Ole! Show opened July 2003.
"KÁ" at the MGM Grand
- This creation from Cirque du Soleil combines acrobatic performances, martial arts, pupperty, multimedia and pyrotechnics
to illustrate the nature of duality. KÁ tells the story of separated twins who embark on a perilous journey to fulfill their linked destinies.
The show's title is inspired by the ancient Egyptian belief in the "ka" an invisible spiritual duplicate of the body which accompanies
every human being throughout this life and into the next. The Asian influence of the costumes, the soaring melodies of the original score,
the advanced technical effects and the symbolic use of fire makes this a Cirque du Soleil show of new dimensions and soul.
Opened November 26, 2004.
The Beatles - LOVE at the Mirage -
Opened July 1, 2006. A joint production with Apple Records about
"living the Beatles Experience" and featuring the music of none other than
the Beatles themselves. Originating from a past suggestion by the late
George Harrison himself, the project concept passed the approval of Paul, Ringo,
Yoko and others and is the first time such full-fledged cooperation has
been leant to a musical production utilizing their ageless hits.
The Beatles LOVE show explores the content of the songs, through the poetry of
the lyrics, as interpreted by unique performances from a cast of international
artists including aerial performance, extreme sports and urban freestyle
dance. A unique soundtrack of Beatles music has been created for LOVE using
the original master tapes at Abbey Road Studios which when combined with the
panorama of the custom-built theatre at The Mirage envelops the audience
in a Beatles experience as never before.
Criss Angel - BeLIEve at the Luxor
- (Opened 2008). In partnership with Cirque du Soleil, world reknowned and
widely acclaimed magician Criss Angel has put together a spectacular
collection of 40 non-stop illusions in this magic extravaganza. As the
most widely broadcast and watched magician of our time unwinds his show,
you'll see the most dangerous to the most comical feats Criss has to offer,
but can you REALLY believe your eyes, or do they LIE?
Zarkana at the Aria Resort & Casino -
(OPENED NOVEMBER 2012). The title derives from the name (Zark) of the ringmaster
of a fantastical circus rising from the dead. The performance mixes rock music
and circus acts with a barely comprehensible, twisted, surreal world where
seemingly sinister mutants spin spider webs as well as chaos.
The NEWEST Cirque SHOW:
Michael Jackson ONE at the Mandalay Bay -
(OPENED JUNE, 2013)
A joint production with the Estate of Michael Jackson about how
"We're All One". Inspired and guided by the musical genius of Michael Jackson,
four misfits persue a transformational voyage which culminates in them
each personifying one of Michael's traits of playfulness, courage,
agility and love.
Viva Elvis at Aria Resort & Casino - CLOSED AUG 2012 (Opened Feb 2010)
