Pacific Rim delights! Japengo is located inside the stunning new Hyatt Regency Las Las Vegas Resort. Its floor to ceiling windows open up onto the patio overlooking the man-made white sandy beach and placid lake for a scenic view which pales in comparison to the dishes served. If presentation was edible, this place would be swallowed up. Begin your dining adventure with the Fire-Roasted Crab Tower or Sesame Tempura Lobster. Your tastebuds will explode with the incredible Spicy Basil Fried Rice. A spicy rice and crispy duck combination. Two of my favorites are Big Eye Tuna "Poke Salad" made with creamy coconut milk and ginger and the Thai-style Shiso and Black Pepper-Crusted Tuna served with jasmine rice. If you're looking for some more fresh fish, stroll along the sushi bar for a a bite of sashimi flown in daily.

Each dish is prepared from scratch and displayed on colorful, uniquely designed dinnerware. Be sure to save room for some dessert. The Pacific Rim has never been so close to home!

The atmosphere is light, airy and open. The decor allows you to slip away into a south Pacific dream. A far cry from the tradional hotel / casino eateries. The service is excellent and the wait staff is well informed of the variety of ingredients in each menu option. Prices are moderate but the food is exquisite. It is off the beaten path but well worth the journey.
