PARMA RISTORANTE
Restaurant Review
Review date: 2/6/98

This place is away from the Strip but definitely worth the drive. Parma Ristorante has the best Northern Italian food in town. It's a quiet little place tucked into a small shopette. The owner/chef takes great pains to make sure your whole meal is perfection. Start with the fried mozzarella and you won't be disappointed. A garden salad and fresh garlic bread comes with every dinner. The wine menu has a nice selection from sparkling wines to Italian Chianti Reserves.

Since every entree is prepared fresh, don't expect to be rushed through like other places. Relax, sit back in the large booths and enjoy the wine. I love Parma's "Chicken Vesuvio". Tender boneless, skinless chicken breast pieces with fresh mushrooms, red potatoes and garlic in a champagne sauce. Don't worry, it comes with a side of spaghetti, too. The baked lasagna is smothered with cheese and baked to a golden brown. Any of the veal dishes are mouth-watering, with the thinnest, most tender veal slices and served with a side of pasta.

Desserts are tempting if you still have room. The tortufo, chocolate covered almond ice cream, can just fill the spot. Service is excellent and so is the food! Nice place for a quiet dinner. Prices are moderate.
