Best duckling on the planet! Inn At Silk Purse Ranch is a delightful hideaway far from the city neon. Located on the way to Mt. Charleston, you'll find this little oasis the perfect place for a romantic dinner. The building was used as a home until recently remodeled into a gourmet restaurant with intimate dining rooms. It may be called an Inn but you cannot spend the night. Every table is served a small cracker and cheese tray while you review the menu. Be sure to ask for the daily specials. The individual Beef Wellington is awesome. The filet is so tender you can cut it with your fork, with just enough pate, all wrapped in a flakey golden pastry crust. If you're into fowl, take my choice, duckling. Covered in a fresh berry sauce served crisp or rare. The side dishes include a garlic mashed potato which was a nice change from the usual rice pilaf served with duck. And let's not forget the hot bread.
They have a small wine list and a full bar. But save room for dessert. It's a must for all chocolate lovers!
The atmosphere is dim and romantic. Twinkle lights adorn the variety of fruit trees which gave this place the "ranch" designation many years ago. Take a quiet stroll around the duck pond or gaze at the stars from the gazebo, it all makes for a wonderful night. The service can be abit slow if the place is busy so plan on a very leisurely dinner. The prices are moderate and the food is fantastic. A great selection for that special evening out or just wanting to get away from the routine.
