TONY ROMA'S
Restaurant Review
Review date: 3/6/98

If you're in the mood for barbecued ribs then this place is a must! Tony Roma's located right downtown in the Fremont Hotel, is famous for ribs and it shows. If you want to tempt your palate with something different, try their onion loaf. Thin crispy onion rings cooked into a loaf. Ribs aren't the only thing on the menu, they have salads, sandwiches, burgers, chicken, seafood and steaks too. Cold crisp cole slaw is my favorite compliment to the Red Hots Ribs. The sauce is made with five types of peppers. For the less adventurous, the Carolina Honey's are sweeter than a bowl of molasses. Or try the Blue Ridge Smokies for the mountain smoked flavor. They even offer combo plates for the indecisive.

The service is good but the place is always busy. The non-smoking section is open to the larger smoking area so don't expect a totally smoke free dining table. Bus service could be better, it seems I was always asking for more water. The bar drinks are good and are a great price but it takes a little while to get them.

The atmosphere reminds me of the old west with the dark wood, tin stamped ceilings and comfy booths, you'd expect Wyatt Earp to walk around the corner. There are other Tony Roma locations in the Las Vegas area, too. Prices are moderate.
