Sha Na Na will bring three decades of rock nostalgia to the Flamingo Ballroom, July 10-12 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15.95, call 800-435-8469 or 702-298-5111.

Sha Na Na began in 1969 during the days when a cappella was at the forefront of the music scene. As Columbia University undergraduates and members of the school's glee club ensemble called The Kingsmen, they sang a cappella versions of '50s rock songs in their performances. As rock 'n' roll spread rapidly across America, it was a move that proved to be very popular.

Staying true to their early vocal stylings and the rock 'n' roll that inspired them, Sha Na Na became involved in a variety of musical events. They were part of the original Woodstock Festival lineup in 1969, starred in the hit movie musical "Grease," and hosted the Sha Na Na television program from 1977-1981.

Since their Woodstock days, the band has released more than 25 albums and had worldwide sales of more than 20 million. In 2001, the eight-man ensemble starred in the national tour of "Leader of the Pack," the Ellie Greenwich musical based of her autobiographical journey as a author and co-author of some of history's greatest rock 'n' roll hits, "Be My Baby," "Do Wah Diddy," "River Deep Mountain High" and "Leader of the Pack."

Sha Na Na, featuring original founders Jocko Marcellino and Donny York, continue to perform for the fans of all generations.

Allegiant Air has extended its original two-year agreement to operate MD-87 charter flights to Laughlin, Nev. for Harrah's Resorts through December 2005.

Under terms of the extended agreement, Allegiant will continue to operate charter service to Laughlin six days a week with arriving passengers staying as guests at Harrah's.

Over the last year, Allegiant has operated to over 100 airports across the U.S. for Harrah's. Selection of the cities is coordinated by Harrah's, as is the marketing and customer invitations for the flights.

Allegiant's MD-87 aircraft operated on the Harrah's flights are configured for 130 passengers with a crew of two pilots and three flight attendants. MD-87s have a range of over 2,500 miles at a cruising speed of more than 500 miles per hour, which provides a non-stop capability from virtually any city in the U.S. Allegiant's fleet includes four jet aircraft and provides both charter and scheduled service. The privately owned airline was founded in 1997.

Wanting to take advantage of all the water activities happening on the Colorado River where most of the Laughlin hotels are situated is only natural.

Each property along the bank of the river offers seasonal watercraft rentals. Just inquire when you get to town.

Desert River Outfitters (1888-KAYAK 33) and Jerkwater Canoe & Kayak (1-800-421-7803) also offer excursions on the Colorado River.
