The legendary Debbie Reynolds will take audiences on a trip down memory lane when she headlines in Don's Celebrity Theatre at the Riverside, Dec. 28-Jan. 1, 2005. Tickets are $32 and New Year's Eve room and show packages are available.

Reynolds career started when she won a beauty contest at the age of 16. From there, she began starring in MGM films and was even nominated for an Academy Award. While at the Riverside, Reynolds will be performing her creative hit show, which includes celebrity impersonations and outstanding timeless songs from her Hollywood career.

On Dec. 18, Christmas carolers at the Colorado Belle will attempt to break the world's record for Largest Carol Service. The record is currently held by the City of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, where 1,175 carolers sang for 28 minutes. The event at Colorado Belle will be filmed by a television crew.

Carolers will begin registering at 10 a.m. to participate. While carolers are assembling, seasonal music will be performed by Las Vegas musicians donating their time for the effort. Caroling for the record will begin at 1:50 p.m. for 40 minutes. Free hot chocolate, coffee and water will be available to carolers at the event, and each participant 21 and over will receive a certificate worth $5 off the purchase of a meal at any of six Colorado Belle dine-in restaurants.

In addition, the Belle will donate cash to the Ronald McDonald House Las Vegas for each person participating in the caroling event.

The Flamingo's Paradise Garden Buffet has a new addition to its extensive menu. Equipped with everything from saut‚ed mushrooms to bacon, the all new live cooking Burger Bar station is designed to give guests the ultimate burger experience. Once guests pick up their ground fresh 100% beef burger, they can go to the "bar" and create their ideal burger with condiments galore.

Flamingo Connection Club members who show their club cards at the buffet entrance receive a $2 discount. Free wine and beer are available to all dinner guests.

The Pop and Shop promotion will run from Dec. 1 through Dec. 24, and allow guests to win certificates up to $100. The Riverside prize patrol will roam the casino floor every day of the promotion in search of machine players or casino table games patrons using their King of Clubs Players' Club. The prize patrol will randomly select guests, who will then have the opportunity to pop one balloon of their choice and win a $25, $50, $75 or $100 cash prize. Road vehicles will be the focus of attention, Dec. 9-12, at the Ramada Express, over desert courses and at the Event Arena. For information, call 1-800-243-6846.

The Ramada Express Hotel Casino International Rally, Dec. 9-12, will attract top road rally drivers from around the world. They will take to courses that traverse the Black Mountains and Cerbat Mountains east of Bullhead City on Friday; go to the rim of Grand Canyon West on Saturday; and tackle the Laughlin Events Arena on Sunday at the Super Stage Event with grandstand seating and side-by-side racing. Events are free.

Dec. 10-11, Magellan Adventure Rally will be presented by JAOS and Yokohama Tire in the parking lot at the Ramada Express. On Friday, a slow-speed, road rally with GPS tracking for treasure (Geocaching) will be open to all but all-wheel drive or high clearance vehicles are recommended. There will be GPS training sessions at 10 a.m. on Friday and the rally on a secret course will be held on Saturday. Entry fee is $450 per vehicle and includes a GPS unit or $250 if the entrant already has a GPS unit.

On Dec. 11, SpeedOptions.com Inter-national Auto Show will have a wide variety of cars on display from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This event is free.

The Events Arena at the Avi will be the scene of big action at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, when the Monster Truck and X-Treme Free Style Motorcycle Spectacular takes place with big time monster trucks, X-treme free style motorcycles leaping off ramps, special features of "Mad Trax" (blown monster truck) and "Fire Storm" (wild fire truck), "Tuff Trucks," "Quads," and "Buggies" for locals to enter. Entry fee is $25, call 760-949-6107. Ticket prices TBA, call 1-866-INFO.AVI and there are free pit party passes to meet the drivers with advance tickets. The first 500 kids will get a free toy monster truck.

The Edgewater will hold "Holiday Expo" for the second year from Dec. 3-12. The Event Center will turn into a huge gift bazaar with all manner of merchandise for sale and there will be discounts for One Club members. Times will be announced.

Chris Crawford has purchased the Regency Casino and his employees are referring to him as "The Big Kahuna," because of the Polynesian direction he's taking the small resort tucked between the Edgewater and Flamingo properties and the fact he likes to wear Hawaiian shirts.

The Regency Diner is now called The Tropical Cow with a Tommy Bahama-look, the upstairs bar is called the Hilo Bar and the downstairs sports bar is called Sports Island and has a Jimmy Buffet feel. Crawford has even ordered a huge plastic cow for decoration.
